Mary Axelson
Mary Axelson's journalism career has focused on technology in education since 1986,
when she had to explain the value of a new storage medium called CD-ROM by highlighting
its applicability to the automobile repair industry. She edited the Heller Report's monthly
technology industry newsletter, Internet Strategies for Education Markets, for nearly
five years, and she has authored numerous articles and reports on educational technology
markets and products. She has also taught at the high school and university levels.
Axelson graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English from the University of Colorado
at Boulder. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, she was also a finalist for the Mellon Fellowship
in the Humanities.
